Fokus Translatørerne attended conference on AI and linguistic craftmanship
On 21 May, Fokus Translatørerne attended the conference AI og det sproglige håndværk, which took a deep dive into the subject of AI and linguistic craftmanship. The conference, arranged by Sprogakademiet, was held at the Royal Danish Library in Copenhagen.
The conference presentations covered topics including linguistic standards, originality and the soul of language, technology and ethics and AI as an editorial partner. A common thread running through the conference topics was the question of how artificial intelligence affects professional linguistic work – and where the line is drawn between automation and human expertise.
For us as specialist business translators, the conference was highly relevant. AI can be a useful tool in many linguistic processes, but accurate and reliable translations still require something that technology cannot provide on its own: in-depth professional insight, cultural understanding, terminological expertise and the ability to assess nuances and context.
At Fokus Translatørerne, we closely monitor developments in AI and stay up to date on new technologies and working methods. At the same time, we remain committed to what we know creates value for our customers: experienced human translators, high quality, confidentiality and linguistic accuracy.
The conference confirmed that the best solutions of the future are found in the interaction between modern technology and professional language skills. That is precisely the combination we offer our customers every day.
